Looking Forward

Is summer already over? That’s truly insane. It feels like I just talked to you all about #DWYGD, but now that it’s already August, it’s time for a new Herd Word of the Month: Milestone. A milestone is an action or event marking a significant change or stage in development. . As schools reopen, it reminds me of two milestones I recently achieved. I graduated college and started working … in “the real world”.

The “graduated college” part is a weird feeling, but I like not worrying about writing papers and doing odd math equations that may or may not ever help me in life. What I am truly having trouble grasping is how weird I feel. Now that I did what I wanted to do since grade school, I feel lost and I find myself asking “what’s next?”

This is the million-dollar question, isn’t it? As I see it, what’s next is to gain all the experience I can working for Herd Strategies and provide my clients with excellent public relations, marketing, and communications support. I’m working on myself and learning how I can become an extraordinary communications specialist. The future looks bright, and I’m excited about what’s next. I treat every day as a new opportunity to learn and grow. I see myself as a sponge soaking up as much experience and information as I can.

As we navigate through this month, we all need to congratulate ourselves on the milestones that we have reached. Doing so will give us the fuel we need to soar higher than we ever imagined.
