10 Local Organizations Leading with PRIDE

Each year, the city of Indianapolis celebrates Pride month as a community. This celebration includes a parade, companies sharing their love and a festival to continue the joy. While we love all of the festivities that come with the month of June, we wanted to highlight companies that advocate and provide safe-spaces all year round.

We continue our #PRIDE theme with 10 local Indianapolis organizations that are leading their missions with PRIDE at the helm of all they do. These 10 companies were created to help move the needle for those in the LGBTQ+ community.

  1. Indy Pride: Indy Pride, Inc. exists to unite and serve its members and the LGBTQ community of Central Indiana through leadership development, educational and support programs, and community events that achieve inclusivity, equality, strong community connections, and awareness of LGBTQ issues.

  2. Indy Rainbow Chamber: Rainbow Chamber is a diverse business networking organization dedicated to the LGBTQ community and its allies working to encourage a business environment that is inclusive and promotes Indianapolis and Central Indiana as a welcoming place to live, visit and do business.

  3. Lopez Law Office: Indiana family law is a vast body of knowledge that takes many years to comprehend, and it is constantly changing. You are not supposed to have all the answers during a time of personal growth and change. The Indianapolis family attorneys at López Law Office can help you move towards the future you want for yourself and your family. Our law office has years of experience in family law.

  4. Indiana Youth Group: Indiana Youth Group (IYG) serves young people ages 12-24 who self-identify as LGBTQ+, as well as their allies. All programs and services are offered free of charge. IYG strives to provide safer spaces to build self-confidence, explore individualism, and develop friendships within the LGBTQ+ community. IYG promotes a space of acceptance, equity, and restorative practices. We also advocate for LGBTQ+ youth in schools, the community, and through family support services.

  5. Maven Space: Maven Space is for entrepreneurs, executives, creatives, dreamers, and doers who crave opportunities to make the connections and find the resources they need to get their big ideas off the ground.

  6. Baby’s: Baby’s is brought to you by the team behind the ball & biscuit on Mass. Ave.  We chose this spot at the corner of 22nd and Talbott St. for Baby’s because of the diversity and energy of the surrounding neighborhoods.  And we were enamored with the building’s history – including stints ranging from grocery store to drag-show venue.  Our vision for Baby’s is a casual, fun and approachable spot suited for families and b&b cocktail enthusiasts alike.  Our aesthetic gives a little wink to the past, and we hope to play a meaningful role in this area’s future.

  7. Helm Coffee Company: We started Helm because we believe in spreading the love of great coffee through kindness and connection - by building relationships one sip and one cup at a time. The way we choose and roast coffee reflects how we want to show up in life: constantly curious, with purpose and passion for what we do. At Helm, we want to help you show up that way too - to be at the helm of your own life, full of authenticity and courage, ready for adventure and pursuing your dreams. We believe a good cup of coffee and a connected community  can help you achieve just that.

  8. Transformation Counseling Services: TCS provides quality, affirming mental wellness care through individual, family, and group therapies. The process of psychotherapy can help with many kinds of concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, and behavioral difficulties, and concerns people may experience surrounding gender explorations, sexual orientation, polyamory, and oppression.
