Follow Your Passion

“Milestone” is an interesting word to write about when you’re in your mid-twenties, like me. Not to say that I haven’t accomplished anything, because joining The Herd was a big milestone in itself, but I feel like I’ve only reached those “conventional” moments that Selena mentioned last week, and I need to figure out my personalized goals.

With Herd Strategies turning ten, the big question in my mind has been, “Where do you want to be in ten years?” I realized upon asking this that I find the question to be very intimidating. I’m not even 100% sure what I’m having for dinner tonight, let alone where I’ll be a decade from now. The more I thought about it, the more I started to spiral.

I let the intimidation weigh on me to a point where I began to feel...lost. I started to question myself and my needs, but I realized something important: I have time. I can allow myself to feel pressured into mapping out every step of my life, or I can continue to follow my passion and let that drive me toward my milestones.

You can only plan so much with life, so don’t allow yourself to feel off-course just because you don’t know what milestones you want to reach yet. Follow your passion, find what brings you joy, and your milestone moments are sure to come.
