Kathy Cabello

#HaveYouHerd: When thinking of who we should celebrate for today’s #FridayFeature, the answer was simple. Kathy Cabello is a respected business leader in our community; she is the President & CEO of Cabello Associates, Inc. and a great friend of Herd Strategies. To read about all the amazing things Kathy does, keep on reading.

Kathy Cabello holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Eastern Michigan University and her MBA from the University of Notre Dame. She is also an MBEP graduate of the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. Kathy started her career as a computer engineer in corporate America, ultimately transitioning to marketing and customer relationship management. Her love for strategy eventually led her to start Cabello Associates-- a full-service marketing consultancy. Kathy is an active member in the community serving on many boards such as the Chair of the Indiana State University Board of Trustees, Fifth Third Bank Regional Board Member, and many more. Something people may not know about Kathy is that she climbed to the top of the Pyramid of the Sun at Teotihuacan three times, and her great, great, great-granduncle was President of Mexico and a general in the Mexican Revolution during the early 1900s.

We asked Kathy what celebrating Hispanic Heritage month means to her, and she said, “I’m exceedingly proud of where I come from and strongly believe that Latino/Hispanic Heritage should be celebrated year-round! While our heritage is typically only in the spotlight for these four weeks, it is a time to honor the impact and influence that our communities have made on this country, state, and city. Latinos are not just the future of Indiana, but their present and have contributed greatly to its past. We are hardworking, resilient people who are always willing to help others, and the rich diversity of nationalities, experiences, ethnicities, and races within the Latino/Hispanic community is something I’m proud to be part of.

What Kathy wants to share about her culture with others is that she is a proud first-generation. “I was shaped and molded by two cultures,” said Kathy. “My rich Mexican heritage that is my heart and soul, and the American entrepreneurial culture that has formed my educational and business foundation.”

Currently, Kathy is working on creating multi-state public health awareness campaigns to increase childhood immunization. She is also working with clients to ensure Latino-owned businesses have access and opportunities to participate in state and federal contracts and so much more. It’s a lot, but we know Kathy is capable of it all.

Kathy is a shining pillar in our community, and we couldn’t be happier to have her. To keep up with Kathy, you can follow her and Cabello Associates on Facebook (@cabelloassociates), Twitter (@CA_Cabello), LinkedIn (@CabelloAssociates), and their website https://www.cabelloassociates.com/.
