How to Elevate

Last week, Denise explained how important it is to focus and dream bigger than before to elevate yourself. The question you may be asking yourself is, “Where do I start?” Well, here are some helpful tips that I use to elevate myself that might help you too.

  • Define your values – To elevate your life, you need to first have a strong understanding of what it is that you hold valuable. Sit down and begin writing out what's important to you so that you know your priorities and what you have to do to keep those values in your day-to-day life.

  • Declutter your mind- We all know that energy is powerful. Be intentional about what you are reading, thinking, watching, and what people are saying to you. Negativity depletes your energy and fogs your brain.

  • Show gratitude- Oprah Winfrey said it best when she said, “Be thankful for what you have, and you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough.” This is so true and something we should all practice daily. Showing gratitude for where you are now will only elevate you in the future.

  • Write the vision – Pardon me while I take you to church. Habakkuk 2: 2-3 says, “Write the vision, and make it plain……” In order to dream, you must have a plan. What does your plan look like? How will you get there? Be strategic about setting S.M.A.R.T goals for yourself.

  • Execute- Now that you have the vision for your life/dream, it’s time to get focused and execute the plan.

Elevating is not one size fits all; we’re all different, so we elevate differently. However, I do believe that if you follow these steps, you will begin to see your life change. Now go out, and chase your dreams; you got this.
