Do The Work

Someone once said that "Old ways won't open new doors." I couldn't agree more. After reading Kierra's blog last week, she reminded me that taking inventory of your life is essential for springing forward.

Often, we marvel over the results and neglect the work we must do to get there. I know, I am guilty of it too. Lately, I have been holding myself accountable for doing the work though– breaking down the steps, and staying committed to the task at hand, even when it's uncomfortable.

This process reminds me of my fitness journey. My fitness goal has always been to gain muscle. But to build muscle, you have to repeatedly break the muscle down first, it's a painful and long process. But it's necessary to get the results. It’s basic fundamentals that require a plan, effort, and patience.

This is true when it comes to anything that will ultimately make our lives better. Knowing where we want to be is great, but doing the work needed to get there is even more critical. Don't let the glitz and glam distract you, and don't let the work discourage you. Keep your head down and get to it. I'm on this journey with you! We got this!
