Money
Let's admit it, I know we have all listened to Cardi B. Her line that speaks to me the most is, "Nothing in this world that I like more than checks (money)," because that's why I wake up every morning and go to work-- I have goals that I want to accomplish.
As a young adult, I’ve learned that creating a budget for your money is important. It ensures that your bills are paid, it helps you reach your financial goals, and it allows you to have fun.
Some may say that a budget is restrictive, but I disagree. A budget is just a strategy for accomplishing your goals. Seeing where your money is going instead of wondering where it went actually gives you the freedom to spend without stress and allows you to minimize your debt.
Recently, my husband and I signed a contract to build our very first home. We're ecstatic, but we wouldn't have been able to accomplish this if we didn’t create a financial plan two years ago to cover all of the upfront cost for the building process. Truthfully, at the beginning of our journey, we never thought we would be where we are today. How did we do it? We stayed consistent, disciplined, and reminded ourselves of the end goal."Now, our hard work is paying off and our very first home will be built in the summer of 2022!
If you have a lot of financial goals that you want to accomplish, make a list and create your budget. If you stick with it, I promise you’ll find yourself hitting some big milestones in no time.
