#DWYGD

Hi! I’m Selena Coles, the newest addition to The Herd squad. By day, I’m an Account Manager, but I’m also a wife, mom, soror, and fitness, and health enthusiast. I have a B. A. in Mass Communications from Virginia State University, with years of experience in Corporate and Non-profit Communications, Public Relations, and Marketing.

In my spare time, I enjoy exercising, reading financial literacy and self-development books, spending time with family and friends, and volunteering in my community.

While I’m in my mid-thirties (yes, I am a Millennial), I’d like to say that I’ve learned a thing or two, or possibly three, about this thing called life, and that is “Doing what you gotta do.”

I’ve learned that pulling yourself up by the bootstraps is hard, and there is no shame in that. For women, it has been embedded in us to be strong, resourceful, and the glue that holds everything and everyone together.

There is a quote that says, “Are you going to cry about it or boss up? First of all, I am going to do both” lol. And I stand with whoever wrote that. Because that’s exactly what I am going to do in my car, in the shower, or while venting to my bestie, but just know that after I wipe my tears, I’m going to remind myself that it’s time to “do what you gotta do” #DWYGD.

And you should too! Sure, life will throw us curve balls. Some of them may even knock us to the ground. But that doesn’t mean that we stay down. NOOOOO sweetheart, you get up, dust yourself off, and keep pressing towards the mark. You do what you gotta do!

You do what you gotta do to land your dream job, graduate from college, open your own business, reach your savings goal, or meet that weight loss goal.

You do what you gotta do. Period!
