Nikki Brown

The color pallet of life uses brushes of perseverance and discipline to show how bright one can shine. Our “Black Is Beautiful” theme leans into the moments where we all need a little extra sparkle. Our Friday Feature is Nikki Brown, a professional freelance Makeup Artist, and Licensed Esthetician who knows how to use the world's colors to help her clients get to that sparkle.

She believes in the beautiful journey of finding your most authentic self, stating, “Although my job focuses on the outside appearance, my view of beauty is looking at what is internally being reflected externally. True beauty comes from your heart, spirit, how you carry yourself and how you treat others.”

Nikki helps her clients elevate through high-level skincare services and, of course, a “Beat Face”! She believes in paying it forward to the next generation of Black and brown beauty experts, further sharing that it's essential “for those who are dreaming of starting their own business in the beauty industry to see others that are successfully doing it.” The empowerment of knowing “you can do it too” launches the next set of leaders in the BIPOC beauty community.

“Black Is Beautiful” to Nikki means that “the beauty and diverse culture of Black people is being celebrated like other cultures and colors.” Celebration is vital in loving one's inner sparkle.

A top suggestion from Nikki is, “A basic skincare routine which consists of a cleanser, moisturizer, serums, sunscreen in the morning, and moisturizing in the evening.” She also lets us know that “once a month facials are ideal for a flawless face.”

Nikki is proud of being a part of the movement where there is a “representation of all people of color. Including makeup artists that are able to accommodate all skin tones and hair stylists who can do all hair types.”

As the view of beauty continues to grow and change over the years, Nikki will be at the forefront of empowerment through her work with each client. You can contact her on IG (nikkibrownmakeup), FB (nikkibrownmakeup), and on her website:https://www.nikkibrownmakeup.com/
