La Celebración

It’s Hispanic Heritage Month, and the word our Herd team has selected to highlight during the 30 days of October is ‘la celebración,’ which translates to ‘celebration.’

I must be honest here. With the ongoing effects of COVID, political unrest, pressures from work and staff, coupled with the worries that come with being a business owner, the word celebrate is hard to wrap my mind around at this moment in time.

But I also must remember that while the load seems heavy, I have a lot to celebrate. My company turned ten this year. That is a HUGE accomplishment. Our client roster is growing, and I often must pinch myself to ensure that our success is not a dream. My loved ones and friends are happy and healthy, and outside of an occasional ache every now and then, I am doing well physically.

So, I guess it’s safe to say that today, it’s the small things that we need to celebrate. While it may not include party hats, confetti, or, like the young people say, “a turn-up,” we should celebrate our accomplishments, big or small, every chance we get. It’s the little things in life that make the difference, and we cannot let the negative outweigh the positive. I encourage us all to celebrate whenever and wherever we can. Life is for the living, and tomorrow is not promised, so make sure you turn up today!
